11.30 a.m. – Meeting request arrived… Team meeting btwn 12.30 – 1.00 pm. Shoot. I need to get back home to see my dad off. His train is @ 3.25pm and we need to leave salt lake at least by 1.30 if we don’t wanna get stuck in the incessant traffic jams.
12.30 p.m – The meeting did start dot on time(WOW!!!) and every 5th min had me looking at my watch. Thankfully it was over by 1.10 and I rushed back to my seat picked up my stuff and reached home. My dad was all set to leave. He had brought just a small backpack kinda thing and he had almost thrice that luggage to carry. Most of it stuff he has to drop off in Vizag.
Now came the difficult part. There they stood, weighing 12 kgs each, lying as untouched as ever, untouched except for the times we occasionally swept the floor or moved the single cot in the hall. The Herculean task of moving the 2 LG Microwaves* down three floors sans lift loomed ahead. And me (being desperately valiant) went towards the first microwave with hands spread open, made a swift 90 degree bend, held the sides of the microwave and made an attempt to lift it, thinking ,” It’s not all that hea…vy” when I thought I heard a small crack (was it a crack, well almost!!!!) Instead I yelled “paddu, paddu, come here and help me with this!!!” and thanks to her spectacular psychic whatever she replied, “I thought you said it wasn’t that heavy”. I sheepishly grinned not budging from my 90-degree position; the microwave still a few cm above the ground. “Why are you carrying it, if it’s heavy? Leave it down.”
“I only wish I could!”
She came to my rescue murmuring something. If she hadn’t come and removed the microwave from my hands, I have no clue how long I would have stayed put in that angle. I had to stay that way for some time even after the microwave was moved, how I became normal is a different story altogether. Somehow we got the 2 of them moved down, me cursing my back all the while.
“ Get married soon, you are getting old” was the last I heard from paddu (Grrrrrr……).
*For the curious, our employer gifted us a microwave as annual gift and yea I didnt get both of them . One is of course mine and the other is my roomy's , which my dad would be dropping off @ visag!!!

microwave as a gift from boss..intelligent ..wants u stay more in office by making cooking easy...:D
I wonder how malleshwari manages tho'!!!
Making one stay more in office doesn't require any additional attractions, what with the internet and A/c. It would be really intelligent if they could harness the entire 8 hrs tho'!!!
